Youth & Children

Zion's Youth Group

There is something for everyone in grades 7 – 12 at Zion (and beyond).

From monthly meetings and gatherings where we share lunch and get active playing four-square-in the air or basketball, to walking to end hunger at the CROP walk, hitting the latest movie, playing Laser Tag, mini-golf, learning to play Dungeons and Dragons or just being engaged in service to the church and community -  Zion’s youth enjoy Christian fellowship.  And, coming from different school districts and backgrounds makes them a welcoming and open group.

Zion’s youth are also committed to mission and the church at large.  Each year youth engage in a service mission.  One of Zion youth has visited our sister congregation, Mpata in Africa to serve and the youth group has traveled throughout the United States and right here at home to use their hands and feet to help their neighbors. Zion is, after all, a congregation committed to community service! And we have a blast with our mission fundraising – including hosting the annual pork and sauerkraut dinner on New Years’ Day.

Zion youth also attend development events.  Each year our middle school youth attend confirmation camp to learn more about the Lutheran faith, and they attend the Lower Susquehanna Synod’s ALiVE gathering.  Senior High Youth attend Winterfest, our synod’s yearly gathering for senior high youth and, every three years travel to the ELCA National Gathering.

So come, travel, serve and grow with us!
